Bacon was great, but had two issues with it: 1. neither description nor ingredient statement stated that this bacon was smoked (it would be nice to know what type of smoke/process was used); 2. the bacon mostly consisted of fat
I like these eggs, especially the price. When I make hard-boiled, though, there are more burst eggs than I would expect. So I think they could be handled more gently in being transported to us. Perhaps it was just the one carton; I didn't hard-boil the other eggs I've bought from Savory. However, I haven't had eggs from other farmers burst like that.
Nonetheless, the eggs were all good. I just used the burst hard-boiled ones first.
This chorizo is outstanding! It is exactly what I look for in a chorizo sausage--a bit spicy with the full flavor of paprika coming through and a good hint of each of the other spices. Some in my household find it a little salty so sometimes we mix with plain ground pork to even out the flavor and saltiness. Perfect with eggs or as part of huevos rancheros. Great in soups too!
These duck eggs are exquisite! They are everything duck eggs are supposed to be, large yolks, thick whites that make amazing merengue and creamy texture when scrambling. I use them for cooking and baking and they are delicious every time!
