We have partnered with Maine Seaweed (not Maine Coast Seaweed), a small family business harvesting wild seaweeds off the coast of northern Maine, to offer you quality seaweed from our Atlantic coast. Our eldest daughter actually worked there.
The bags consist of a mix of approximately 75% digitata, 20% kelp, 5% alaria.
This soup mix comes with directions for use, a soup recipe, many trace minerals, as well as a few words on making "calming soup".
Below are Larch's words on his seaweed soup mix:
Many people don’t have time for fancy cooking, but they do keep a pot of soup. If that soup contains a variety of seaweeds, the person will be more assured of getting necessary minerals. Think of it this way: 90% of human immunity to bacteria and viruses is “nonspecific immunity” and that simply means that we keep our human bloodstreams well mineralized (alkaline) and salty enough so that whatever bacterial and viral critters crawl into us are literally DEHYDRATED by the ocean we have carried within us since time immemorial. If one were ill, physically or spiritually, turning to the sea for healing, one way or another, would be wise. In this spirit, this seaweed soup mix is offered as a survival pack for helping people to maintain their nonspecific immunity and their internal balance in a world that is growing increasingly stressful.
