At Briars Farmstead, we believe that feeding people real food, raising animals responsibly and humanely and stewarding the land is the answer to a God-given call and a way to stand passionately for truth. Before we started farming in 2005, we had a vision of many people coming to the farm for good food. Briars Farmstead provided the opportunity to take the blessing of living on an historic family property and to transform the land we love into a source of vitality, healing and nourishment--a gathering place for like-minded people of all walks of life.
A cow share from Briars Farmstead is the perfect way to enjoy the freshest, most natural milk available.
Here's how it works: to purchase a herd share, you initially pay $100 for your portion of the herd plus a $25 bottle deposit fee for a total of $125. The bottle deposit will include 5 half gallon glass bottles that we will put milk from your cow in when we milk it for you. If you forget or are unable to return one of your half gallon glass jars, we will replace it for a smaller ($5) bottle fee per bottle.
Once you purchase your share, you will be responsible for the monthly fee of $36 per share, that covers the hard work of taking care of your cow: milking, grazing, doctoring, delivering, etc. Each share entitles you to one gallon of milk per week. You can buy as many shares as you need.

You will also need to sign an agreement that is attached to this page. Please print it out, and either mail it to us or bring to the farm at or prior to the first pickup date of your milk.
