Belle Meade Farm, located in Sperryville, Virginia, specializes in pastured livestock raised without hormones or antibiotics, including cows, pigs, chickens, laying hens, and turkeys, as well as organically grown vegetables. The farm also features horses, cats, and an abundance of wildlife. Here at Belle Meade, all of our animal products are free-range and the beef is grass-fed and grass-finished. We practice management-intensive rotational grazing in which our herd of cattle rotate through our pastures on a daily basis.
Belle Meade offers a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. The Belle Meade Three Seasons CSA begins October 9th and runs through May 20th. Shares will include vegetables, meat and eggs as available and occasionally other products such as honey or other preserved farm foods.
Belle Meade Farm works in conjunction with Belle Meade School. Our vegetables are grown by Belle Meade School's students, teachers, parent volunteers, and our garden manager. All veggies are grown without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers, and organic gardening practices and growing principles. A variety of vegetables will be included in the weekly and bi-weekly shares depending on the month and availability.
