My husband and I started our farm in 2009 with a hand-milked Jersey cow and her calf, 5 chickens and three goats. A year later we started raising meat chickens, then Tamworth pigs, then a few Angus cows. We only have 10 acres next to a suburb of DC, but we are trying to maximize the production while restoring the soil using Holistic High-density grazing methods and little machine power.
